Twitter recently introduced much-anticipated ‘night mode’ feature to its official Android and iOS applications. Night mode applies darker hue mobile app screen, to make it easier to read the tweets on low light environment. This feature can be toggled on and off from the Twitter app settings option.

Now, the Twitter Web – Night Mode, Chrome browser extension brings the same dark theme feature to the web. Please note that this is an unofficial chrome extension developed by tsriram.in.

When “Twitter Web Night Mode” extension was first released, the dark mode was working limited to timeline, profile page, and notifications screens. However, after several updates, now it works for almost all pages including direct messages, search, hashtag search pages etc.

Please note, the dark mode skin is working only for the twitter desktop website, it is still not working for the responsive mobile site. At least, not yet.

You can install the extension in any desktop Chrome browser directly from the Chrome Web Store. Follow the simple steps to download and apply night mode.
