After a long wait, WhatsApp has finally rolled out video calling feature to all its users. Since the update more than one billion users can make video calls across Android, iPhone, and Windows Phone devices.

WhatsApp Messenger is an internationally popular messenger app. This application’s main use is to chat via instant messaging with one other person, or with multiple people. The app also makes it possible for users make VoIP calls, sharing of pictures, music tracks of any format, and even videos.

Wondering how to make video calls on WhatsApp? This simple guide will help you.

How to Make Video Calls on WhatsApp

  • Update your app to the latest version.
  • Launch WhatsApp and tap the name of the contact with whom you want to initiate a video call. Tap the video button on the screen title.
  • Once this is done, the app will provide the option to either make a video call or a voice call.
  • Select the video call option and get talking.

It is worth noting that, the contact you are video calling must have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on their smartphone, otherwise the call won’t be placed.

I have tried making several calls to my family living in India and quite satisfied with the video and audio call quality. Specially if your over Wi-Fi it is flawless and very clear, but it did go down a bit when using mobile data. To conclude the video calling feature in WhatsApp will definitely make the rivalry among similar apps like Skype and fiercer.
