The Google Play Services version 8.1 update brings the Android Pay support for Android Pay. Those who have updated the application noticed that there is a new option under the “Tap and pay” option, which allow the users to choose between the Android Pay and Google Wallet. According to some recent rumors, many people think using Android pay they can use the contact-less payment service, which is true.
However, this feature has not been enabled by Google, which means that you can’t use the Android Pay yet. In case you’ve selected the Android Pay option for payment, then you’ve noticed that there is no application for this service and when you’ve returned to the Settings app, the Android Pay was gone.
Android Pay: What Is This?
In case you didn’t hear yet about Google’s upcoming Android Pay yet, then you’re a bit behind with the news. The Android Pay feature is the new NFC payments solution that Google will come with. It was firstly announced during the Google I/O 2015 event and according to Google, it will allow you to pay for everything by simply tapping your phone on the POS system.

Google Wallet allows you to do this, but it was a bit different. For example, Android Pay is not another application and instead its functionality was built into the Android OS. The Android Pay feature supports fingerprint readers and other security measures.

Android pay is Google’s answer to Apple Pay, which is live and kicking for a few months already. The Android Pay feature is going to be released soon for Android devices and once it will be available, we’re pretty sure that the mobile device owners that have the NFC feature, will ditch the Google Wallet for the new payment service.
